Phi Delta Kappa Scholarships!
Relay for Life was a success!
The KU- PDK Chapter joins the fight against cancer! For the past two years our membership has raised funds and sent a team to walk in support of the annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life, held in Lawrence, KS.
Kriss Kruzel, the daughter of our Immediate Past President, joined our PDK team efforts. She has been actively involved in Relay for Life for a number of years. Kriss is one of the supporters who raised funds and, until this summer, walked during the full twelve hour relay supporting Cancer Research. This year Kriss continued her participation in the relay in a wheelchair. At Christmas, Kriss was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer. She continues to fight her battle with cancer and promote a cure for the disease that affects so many families. Here is a picture of Kriss that was on the front page of the Lawrence Journal World. It was taken at the Lawrence Relay for Life ceremony. Her husband, John is pushing her around the track. She is holding the PDK “Spirit” stick, one of the support activities representing teams.
